Grammy Award-winning soul singer who released the #1 hit single, "Me and Mrs. Jones," in 1972.
He studied music at Temple University. He later trained as a vocalist at the Granoff School of Music.
In 1973, he released the hit single, "War of the Gods," which combined pop, funk, and soul music.
He was raised in North Philadelphia and listened to his father's 78 rpm records. His wife Blanche was his manager.
He has appeared onstage with composer Miles Davis.
