MLB first baseman who began his career with the Kansas City Royals in 2007 and was named to his first All-Star team in 2012. He helped lead the Royals to the 2014 World Series were they lost to the San Francisco Giants in a back and forth 7-game series. He was signed to the Yankees in 2016.
He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 2004 after a standout career at Wolfson High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
He earned the nickname Country Breakfast from Kansas City Royal fans.
He had a daughter named Kanley with his wife Katie Hansen.
He was selected to the 2012 All-Star game by manager Ron Washington .
