English bassist for the Rolling Stones from 1962 to 1993 before striking out on his own and pursuing a solo career.
He took a job working for a bookmaker in 1953.
Outside of his work with the Rolling Stones, he has released four solo albums and five albums with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings.
He married his third wife, Suzanne Accosta, in 1993; the couple has three children.
He and drummer Charlie Watts were bandmates in the Rolling Stones.
