Bill Gurley

Investor who gained renown as a general partner at the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Benchmark. He led the firm to invest in top start-ups, including GrubHub, Zillow, NextDoor and OpenTable. He served on Uber's board of directors until 2017.
He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in 1989. He earned a MBA from the University of Texas in 1993.
He spent four years working on Wall Street as a research analyst. He has often been named to the annual Forbes Midas List. He joined Twitter in 2007 and amassed over 480,000 followers on his bgurley account.
He has three children with his wife, Amy.
He is friends with former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick.
