Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins
Sculptor
English sculptor and natural history artist known for his work on the life-size models of dinosaurs in the Crystal Palace Park.
He studied at St. Aloysius College, and learned sculpture from William Behnes.
He was appointed assistant superintendent of the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London.
He married Mary Selina Green in 1826 and they had six children.
He was commissioned to make sculptures for New York City's Central Park, which Frederick Olmstead designed.
