Teacher and former astronaut who participated in the Teacher in Space program and later trained as a Mission Specialist.
She taught English and science to Ecuadorian third graders.
She is a classically trained flautist.
She had two sons with Clay Morgan.
She was the backup for Christa McAuliffe on the ill-fated mission aboard Space Shuttle Challenger.
