Actress who burst onto the Indian movie scene by playing Shama Parveen in the Hindi crime film Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) as well as its sequel, Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2 (2012). She was previously an accomplished model who participated in fashion weeks in Delhi as well as Mumbai.
She grew up in Madhubani, Bihar, India and went to school in both Patna and Delhi.
She won the Channel V Get Gorgeous competition in 2006.
She has a brother named Anshuman.
She and Sandeepa Dhar appeared together in the romantic comedy Baaraat Company (2017).
