Javelin Thrower
Norwegian javelin thrower who was the Olympic champion in 2004 and 2008.
He started javelin throwing at age 11 and was initially coached by his father.
He was the first male javelin thrower to become European champion, World champion and Olympic champion.
His father Tomm Thorkildsen was also a javelin thrower.
He and Dainis Kula both competed in the javelin throw at the Olympics.
