Luger who won a gold medal in men's doubles at the 2006 Olympics and then won gold again in the same event at the 2010 Olympics.
He and his brother Wolfgang did their first doubles run together when Andreas was 14 years old.
He won silver in men's doubles at the 2014 Olympics.
He was born in Hall in Tirol, Austria.
Matthias Mayer also medaled for Austria in the 2014 Olympics, winning gold in the downhill.
