Amy Walter
Political Scientist
American political analyst who is known for having served as national editor of The Cook Political Report. She is also known for having served as the political director of ABC News working out of Washington, DC.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colby College. She started her career working for The Cook Political Report in 1997 covering the United States House of Representatives. She left in 2007 and became Editor in Chief at the National Journal's The Hotline.
She was the recipient of the Washington Post's Crystal Ball Award in 2009. She was also part of the Emmy-winning CNN election coverage team in 2006.
She married fellow political author Kathryn Hamm in 2013.
She has appeared as a guest on several political talk shows including alongside Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, and Chris Wallace.
