Amos Bronson Alcott

Transcendentalist figure known for his innovative educational methods and writings and his Utopian community experiments.
He first worked as a traveling salesman; however, he found this lifestyle detrimental to his soul and switched to a teaching career.
He was a close friend of fellow Transcendentalist author, Ralph Waldo Emerson.
He married Abby May in 1830. Together, they had four daughters.
He was the father of "Little Women" author, Louisa May Alcott.
