Orthodox boxer known for his pressing style; won light welterweight bronze in the 2008 Olympics and light welterweight gold in the 2005 Mediterranean Games.
He grew up in Pont-Audemer, France.
He was on the losing end of a pair of controversial decisions in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
His brother Adriani Vastine also became a professional boxer.
English southpaw James Degale competed in the same 2008 Olympics, winning gold in the middleweight competition.
