Ukrainian chess Grandmaster who was a member of the gold-medal winning Ukrainian team at the 36th Chess Olympiad in 2004.
He won the World Championship for Boys in 1996, launching him to chess fame.
He is the 2013 European Individual Chess Champion and has played for Ukraine at the Chess Olympiads three times.
He was born and raised in Ukraine.
He is a contemporary of Vladimir Kramnik.
