Alex Johnson

Left fielder who played for eight teams from 1964 to 1976, debuting with the Philadelphia Phillies, and ending his career with the Detroit Tigers.
He was a star football player in high school, but turned down a football scholarship from Michigan State so that he could sign with the Phillies.
In 1970, while playing for the California Angels, he was both the AL Batting Champion, and an All-Star selection.
He married Julia Augusta in 1963, and they had two children together before their divorce at the end of his career.
As a kid, he played sandlot baseball with Willie Horton.
