Pitcher for the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, and Los Angeles Dodgers from 1961 to 1977; turned to broadcasting after retirement.
He starred at Rider University, before signing with the Yankees as a free agent in 1961.
He was an All-Star in 1967 while with the Yankees and then, after battling injuries, was awarded the NL Comeback Player of the Year award in 1971, while with the Dodgers.
He was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey.
He is best remembered for being the pitcher to surrender Hank Aaron's record-breaking 715th career home run.
