Adolf Erik Nordenskiold
Botanist
Baron, botanist, mineralogist geologist, and arctic explorer who was a member of the their Nordenskiöld family. He is best known for leading the Vega expedition along the northern coast of Eurasia, which was the first complete crossing of the Northeast Passage.
He attended the University of Helsinki.
His books include The Voyage of the Vega Round Asia and Europe: With a Historical Review of Previous Journeys Along the North Coast of the Old World.
He had two children, Erland and Gustaf Nordenskiöld.
Another prominent scientist is Charles Darwin.
