Quarterback who broke into professional football with the Arena Football League's Arizona Rattlers in 1995 and played for several other AFL teams.
He played football and basketball at Grant Union High School in California.
He started his collegiate career at Washington State but lost his starting job to future NFL mainstay Drew Bledsoe, which led him to transfer to Sacramento State.
He was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He is married to Bryn and they have five children, Gigi, Bella, Anthony, Christian and Jaxon.
In 2002, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers, a team that included talented-but-temperamental wide receiver Terrell Owens.
