Folk Singer
Known for hit songs such as "Violet Blue" (1981) and "My Passion" (1988), this Serbian folk and pop vocalist released more than two dozen albums between the mid 1970s and the early 2000s and won many music awards for her work.
She released her debut single, "Do Not Let Us Part," in 1975.
A political activist and party member as well as a singer, she had a close friendship with Serbian and Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic and his wife, Mirjana Markovic.
She was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. Her four marriages -- including those to musicians Ljuba Keselj and Miroljub Arandelovic -- resulted in a total of one son and three daughters.
She and Dragana Mirkovic are both well known Serbian folk singers.
