Yury Gazinsky
Soccer Player
Midfielder who has risen to fame for his play in Russia club soccer, including for FC Krasnodar beginning in 2013. He scored the first goal of the 2018 FIFA World Cup during Russia's opening match victory over Saudi Arabia.
He played his youth soccer with Smena Komsomolsk-na-Amure's youth academy between 2003-2007. He debuted professionally for the club in 2007.
He helped lead FC Krasnodar to the UEFA Europa League group stage in 2015 and 2016. He previously contributed to their runner-up finish at the 2014 Russia Cup.
He married his wife Alexandra Ivanova-Gazinskaya in 2015.
He and Aleksei Ionov played as teammates for Russia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
