A chess master who has been considered one of Lithuania's greatest players.
He first became a Grandmaster in 1973.
He won the Lithuanian Championship in 1973.
He was born and raised in Russia, and later moved to Lithuania.
He helped train Boris Spassky for his second match against Bobby Fischer.
