South Korean pop star who gained fame as the lead singer of the boy band Beast. As a solo artist, he won the Musical Rising Star Award at the 2011 Golden Ticket Awards.
He was inspired by the singing of Brian McKnight and was a member of a rock band in high school.
As a member of Beast, he won the Top Asian Artist award from the Asian Song Festival in 2011.
He has an older sister.
He and MBLAQ singer Lee Joon were both cast members of "Oh! My School" on KBS.
