His love affair with theatre began as a child. His career officially began after he joined the theatre group Prayag Rang Manch. He then spent his formative years performing in countless stage plays.
A playwright and director, he is the mind behind the stage productions Mahavir and Shakuntala.
Born and raised in Allahabad, he spent much of his life in Nairobi.
He portrayed the father of Shah Rukh Khan's character Gaurav Chandna in the Indian thriller Fan.
