Russian general who was one of the leaders of the anti-communist White Army during the Russian Civil War.
He graduated from the General Staff Academy and served with the Russian Imperial Guard.
His kidnapping was the subject of a book by Anatoly Rybakov, called The Fear.
He was born to a Baltic German noble family in what is now Daugavpils, Latvia.
He and Stanislaw Bulak Balachowicz were both Russian Generals.
