Yaghoob Karimi

Iranian professional football player who is known for his work as a midfielder for the Esteghlal Khuzestan football club of the Persian Gulf Pro League. He is also known for his work as a midfielder for the Iranian national team as well.
He first began his youth career in 2003 for the Pas academy. He then moved up to the Esteghlal club in 2008 and joined their first team the following year. In 2011, he became part of the Iran under 23 team and played for their national team starting in 2012.
He has won several honors with the Esteghlal club including runner up of the 2010 Persian Gulf Pro League and runner up of the Hazfi Cup during the 2015 season.
He was born and raised in Kivi, Ardabil, Iran.
As part of Iran's national team during the 2018 World Cup, he played alongside Alireza Biranvand, Masoud Shojaei, and Ashkan Dejagah.
