He started writing scripts for TV station TVB beginning in 1975.
He was attacked by unidentified men, believed to be part of the Chinese organized crime group Triads, outside his office in 1994.
His father was film director Wong Tin-Lam.
He directed Chow Yun Fat in the 1989 box office sensation God of Gamblers.
