Willie Banks
Triple Jumper
Triple jumper who competed for the United States in the 1980, 1984, and 1988 Summer Olympics, and won a silver medal at the 1983 World Championships.
He attended UCLA, and placed second at the 1977 and 1978 NCAA Championships.
On June 16, 1985, he set a world record by jumping 17.97 meters, and was inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1999.
He was born at the Travis Air Force Base in California.
He was a member of the U.S. Track and Field team at the 1988 Olympics along with Carl Lewis.
