William Whewell
Philosopher
English scientist, philosopher, and theologian who was the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. He is also known for his writings on Gothic architecture, including his book Architectural Notes on German Churches, which published in 1830.
He was successful in mathematics when he was young while attending Lancaster and Heversham grammar schools.
He published works in a wide array of disciplines including mechanics, physics, geology, and astronomy.
He was married twice, once to Cordelia Whewell and once to Everina Frances, Lady Affleck.
He was a philosopher like Sir Francis Bacon.
