William Pugsley
Politician
Canadian attorney and Liberal Party politician. He held office in 1907 as New Brunswick Premier and served a decade later as Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick.
After graduating with honors from the University of New Brunswick, he studied law and opened a practice in the city of Saint John.
He began his political career as Speaker of the New Brunswick Legislature.
He was the New Brunswick-born son of Frances Hayward and William Pugsley, Sr. He was married twice: to Frances Jane Parks and Gertrude Macdonald.
He and contemporary Jack Patterson were both Canadian Liberal Party politicians who attended the University of New Brunswick.
