Famous Astronomer and composer who discovered infrared radiation, the planet Uranus, and two of its major moons, Titania and Oberon. He is also known for the twenty-four symphonies that he composed.
He composed twenty-four symphonies and played four instruments.
During his career, he constructed more than four hundred telescopes and with them he discovered over 2400 objects defined by him as nebulae.
He was married to Margaret Brodie Stewart from 1829 until 1871. He had a sister named Caroline.
