William Harvey
Physicist
English physician who was the first to describe completely the systemic circulation and properties of blood being pumped to the brain and body by the heart. This was published in a treatise entitled the De Motu Cordis in 1628.
He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cambridge after completing his Bachelor's degree from Caius College in 1597.
A hospital in his name exists in the town of Ashford, not far from where he was born.
He got married to Elizabeth Browne in October 1604.
He is a their physician, much like Rudolf Virchow.
