Multi-instrumentalist for the band Arcade Fire who plays bass, synth, guitar, and percussion. He has also worked on movie soundtracks, like the one for Her.
He majored in poetry and Slavic studies at Northwestern University.
He played on Arcade Fire's 2010 album The Suburbs, which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
He married dancer Jenny Shore in January of 2008.
His brother is Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler.
