He signed with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He was an Academic All-Big Ten member during his time at Nebraska.
He was born to Bill and Kathy Compton and has a younger brother who wrestled at Nebraska.
He took over the starting role in 2015 after Keenan Robinson missed time with an injury.
