A Filipino chess Grandmaster and former prodigy who became one of the most highly ranked players in the world.
He became the youngest Filipino player to reach the rank of International Master at age 12.
In May, 2013 he was the 40th ranked chess player in the world.
As a former child prodigy, his family was instrumental in helping him pursue chess.
He has followed in the footsteps of Filipino chess legend Eugenio Torre.
