Film journalist who won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Criticism for his work as a film critic for the Boston Globe. He later joined The New York Times as a critic at-large, and gained notoriety as a co-host of the popular Times podcast Still Processing.
He graduated with his bachelor's degree in film studies from Yale University in 1997. He was a film critic for The Yale Daily News during all four years as an undergraduate student.
His Still Processing podcast was named as one of the best podcasts of 2016 by The Atlantic, IndieWire, and The Huffington Post. He wrote for Grantland between 2013-2015.
He was originally born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He and Jerry Saltz are both winners of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.
