The 29th U.S. President from 1921 until his death in 1923. He was considered to be one of the most corrupt presidents in history because of his involvement in the Teapot Dome scandal.
He gained ownership of the Marion Daily Star newspaper after working as a teacher and insurance man.
He was an avid poker player and one time lost an entire set of antique White House china in a single hand.
He married the daughter of his nemesis, Florence Kling DeWolfe, in July 1891.
He appointed future president Herbert Hoover as secretary of commerce.
