Youngest brother of Wyatt Earp who did not participate in the gunfight at the O.K. Corral, but did ride with Wyatt on his future vendettas.
He was too young to fight with his brother during the Civil War, and joined them later in Tombstone, Arizona, to collect taxes and occasionally stand in as a guard.
After their two brothers were gunned down -- likely by remaining members of the family from the O.K. Corral fight -- he rode with Wyatt to exact revenge.
He was one of five sons born to Nicholas and Virginia Earp in Pella, Iowa.
Jim Caviezel played him in the 1994 film Wyatt Earp.
