Walter Tull

Forward who played professionally from 1908-1918 for Clapton, Tottenham Hotspur, Northampton Town, and the Rangers.
He began his education at Mundella Primary School.
He fought in the Battle of the Somme in World War I and was later killed in action during the Spring Offensive.
He grew up in Kent, England with his parents Daniel Tull and Alice Elizabeth Palmer.
As the first mixed-race person to become a commissioned officer in the British Army and the second to play in the top division of British soccer, he helped break down barriers much like Jackie Robinson.
