Walter Mosley
Novelist
American novelist best known for his Easy Rawlins series of mystery novels. His novel Devil in a Blue Dress was turned into a film starring Denzel Washington.
He grew up in Los Angeles and moved to New York, where he studied writing at City College in Harlem.
He won a number of awards for his work and was inducted into the New York Writers Hall of Fame in 2013.
He was married to Joy Kellman from 1987 to 2001.
He was inspired by the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, among others.
