Walter Catlett
Movie Actor
American actor whose career was bolstered by the introduction of talkies. He had comedic roles in films such as Yankee Doodle Dandy, Bringing Up Baby, and Mr. Deeds Goes to Town.
He debuted on the stage in 1906 before he tried his hand at silent pictures in 1912. Following that uninspired film run, he returned to the stage before trying movies again.
He had a role in the 1939 musical, Married in Hollywood and a year later provided his voice for Pinocchio as Foulfellow the Fox.
He married twice to women by the names of Ruth Verney and Zanetta Watrous.
In the 1935 film adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities starring Ronald Colman, he played John Barsad.
