He played college basketball at St. John's University, where he was an All-American and the Big East Player of the Year in 1986.
He was chosen 14th overall in the 1986 NBA draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.
He was born and raised in New York City, New York.
His NBA career faltered when he couldn't get along with his coaches, including Larry Brown.
