Comic book artist, illustrator and cartoonist best known for his work on the humor magazine, Mad.
He graduated from high school in the last years of World War II. After serving briefly with the armed forces, he moved to New York to pursue a career as an artist.
He created magazine advertisements, album covers, posters, and even a "Mars Attacks" trading card series.
He grew up in Menahga, Minnesota, and his parents supported his interest in drawing throughout his childhood.
He worked with Frank Miller on cover art for Marvel's "Daredevil" comic series.
