Vladimir Zworykin
Inventor
Russian-born TV pioneer who invented the TV technologies that employed cathode ray tubes and are still used to this day. He is considered 'The father of television,'
He left Russia for the United States in 1918, during the Russian Civil War, before finding work at the Westinghouse laboratories in Pittsburgh, where he had an opportunity to participate and work on television experiments.
The TV camera he invented has been refined, but its principles have changed little from his design.
His father ran his own boat fleet business.
