He played for the England Under-21 National Team in 1978.
He was the first English soccer player of African heritage to represent his native country in an international football match.
His son, Charlie, played for the Macclesfield Town Football Club.
In 1987, he was signed to Manchester United by soccer manager Alex Ferguson.
