Intheir Italian-American mobster and head of the notorious Genovese crime family. He was involved in the their Castellammarese Mafia War of the early 1930s.
He stopped going to school after the fifth grade.
In 1930, local authorities found $1 million in counterfeit money in his New York home.
Born in Italy, he moved to New York at the age of fifteen. He vowed to marry Anna Petrillo shortly after his first wife's death, although Petrillo was already married at the time.
One of his childhood friends was Cosa Nostra founder Lucky Luciano.
