He began playing soccer for his local side Le Havre, and in 2006 was selected to the French FIFA World Cup team.
After retiring from playing, he began competing in the European Poker Tour and became the chairman of the club L'Entente SSG.
He had two daughters with his wife Emille.
Eric Abidal was his teammate on the 2006 French World Cup team.
