Boxer known for being the first Indian ever to medal in boxing at the Olympic Games. He received the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna prize from the Indian government following the 2008 Olympic Games.
He worked as a model while training under boxing coach Jagdish Singh.
He has branched out into acting, appearing in the 2014 Bollywood film "Fugly".
He married actress Archana Singh in 2011.
He was paired with actress Bipasha Basu on the dancing TV show "Nach Baliye".
