She began playing tennis when she was 7 years old.
She won the Under 18 USTA National Championships in 2012.
She initially grew up in Haiti, but her mother moved her and her two brothers to Florida.
She was defeated by fellow American Kim Clijsters at the 2012 U.S. Open.
