Canadian singer and actress best know as the lead singer of 80s music trio Vanity 6. She passed away in 2016.
As a teenager, she modeled for local beauty pageants. She won Miss Nigeria Hospitality in 1977.
Born Denisa Katrina Matthews, she began going by Vanity in 1980 after her mentor, Prince, gave her the nickname.
She dated Prince from 1980-1983 and Nikki Sixx from 1983-1986. She was married to Oakland Raiders player Anthony Smith from 1995 to 1996.
She starred in Action Jackson in 1988, opposite Sharon Stone.
