She studied International Commerce at the University of Guanajuato and earned a degree in International Business. She sat on the board of directors of a rehab centre for girls and women.
She participated in the fifth cycle of Mexico's Next Top Model and was the winner.
Her full name is Silvia Vanessa Ponce de León Sánchez.
She was crowned by the outgoing Manushi Chhillar from India.
