Russian cosmonaut who flew into space twice and has been onboard both the Mir and International Space Stations.
He graduated from the Gagarin Military Aviation Academy in 1987.
He conducted four spacewalks.
He had one son with his wife Elana.
He flew on STS-111 with Peggy Whitson.
